New Horizons operates its Lone Star Gallery resale shop on site, providing patrons with opportunities to assist with customer service, sort, clean and price items for sale, stock and clean the shop.
Donations of household goods, clothing and furniture support the operation of the shop with proceeds benefiting our training programs. Our patrons can assist with pick up of large donations.
New Horizons has a bountiful garden of herbs, gourds, and vegetables that our patrons harvest and process into fresh and dried herbs, tea blends, pickles, soaps, balms and lotions. We participate regularly in the local Kingwood Farmers’ Market. Our products also can be found in the resale shop. We plan an industrial kitchen in order to produce products that can be sold online.
Our patrons produce disposable rags from cotton clothing rejects from the Resale Shop. The clothing is cut into squares and sold in 25-pound boxes to local business, including auto repair and manufacturing facilities.
New Horizons provides shredding of confidential documents for businesses, local school districts and government agencies. Pick up is available for large loads. At just 30 cents per pound, our shredding services are among the lowest priced in the area. Documents are maintained in a secure area, and a certificate of destruction is available upon request.
